Throughout the journey of life we have been most fortunate to discover that there has always been those unique and special occasions where an extraordinary experience is gratefully long remembered and in turn very much appreciated. Like numerous other discerning guests who have made the enterprising decision to journey to the solitude and splendour that epitomizes the Eagles Nest Retreat, we also made that decision as we decided that it would be appropriate to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary in an environment that would clearly reflect the significance of such an important milestone in our married life. So this is our story, of our own unforgettable experience, which we are pleased to share with others who have also obviously appreciated the enjoyment and understanding of excellence, passion and purpose which is clearly reflected in the discovery of one’s dream that certainly came true. As a means of introduction our life together as husband and wife has generally been very good to us, presenting the normal demands that’ six children can generate, but today we are senior citizens sharing that special journey through the golden years and as this time is our time we have endeavoured to make the most of every moment. Reflecting back to our early years, it was while we were finding our way in the first struggles of our professional careers we actually created a team logo which incorporated the image of a ‘Golden Eagle’ and as the years have passed by, this affinity with the magnificence and beauty of the “Golden Eagle” has subsequently developed into a motivating symbol that in many ways represents all that we have believe in and all that we aspire to achieve. The “Golden Eagle” of life represented our special understanding of freedom and challenge and daring to soar to new heights of accomplishment with a never give in attitude. Personal values such as integrity, honesty, dedication, determination and commitment went hand in hand with our desire to achieve levels of success that we previously had never before considered to be possible. Today in our family home visitors are often amazed to see that we have on display numerous large ornaments and statues of Eagles in all forms of flight with one very special creation which is a magnificent wooden Eagle with a five foot wing span carved out of local timber by a talented artisan who used an electric chain saw. And today it stands proud on display as a symbol of those special moments in time that we shared with our work mates and friends. When we had the opportunity to visit Eagles Nest Retreat it very quickly became very obvious to us that the creator of this incredible and incomparable construction also had to be a person with an incredible unique motivation and an unswerving devotion to take a chance and create a place that was not only strikingly different but a place that most of us could only marvel at because of it’s magnificence. It was very obvious to us that the inspiration for the “Eagle Nest Retreat” had equally required extraordinary confidence and considerable vision plus the relentless personal drive to construct such an imaginative residence that truly reflected one man’s interpretation of the time when he dared to dream. For us to share in this amazing experience over three days and nights has left us feeling very content and very pleased and certainly very appreciative for it was like we had been invited to share in the magnificence of another man’s paradise and for this we were most grateful for the opportunity to do so. To share in the experience and discovery of the imposing Eagles Nest Retreat development was certainly one of those incredible experiences and adventures that we have often longed for and on this occasion the real life opportunity was ours to enjoy and we did. This is truly a very special place where relaxation and admiration go hand in hand along with the magnitude and grandeur of the majestic silver ridges of Mount Roland appearing to be standing guard over an amazing reflection of Mother Nature and all that she has created and all that she represents. For us to celebrate such an important occasion in such an imposing creation was definitely a memory that will never fade, and when we add in all of the additional pleasures of a personal massage, an in house chef, sleeping under the stars, complete peacefulness and the many hidden extras that we continued to find each day it was definitely a dream that had come true. Today as we reflect back in time we can only both agree “that it simply does not get any better than this” and it was with great pleasure that we were able to congratulate Des for his vision and courage and daring along with his complete willingness to share his dream with others who can willingly appreciate the understanding that the Eagles Nest Retreat is a place where those who love life and admire excellence can enjoy the moment. It was definitely a personal privilege to be able to share in such an awesome experience and we thank Des and Dianne for making us warmly welcome and wish them every success as their journey continues. Neville and Faye White. | |
