"When we were looking at having a very small, intimate wedding in Perth, Western Australia, we found it difficult to find a venue just to really accommodate us, a photographer and a celebrant.

We had been to Tasmania and Sheffield before and knew it was a stunningly beautiful place so we decided to join our wedding and honeymoon together in Tasmania.

Eagles Nest Retreat was the perfect place.

A few emails and telephone calls later, Des and Di had assisted Sam and myself to organise our special day.

We arrived at the venue on a Friday and nothing prepared us for just how incredibly spectacular the retreat was and the surrounding countryside.

On our special Day, it was magnificent. We were relaxed and Des helped us take care of absolutely everything.

Special thanks to Jo the Chef who made us some wonderful nibbles, wedding cake and dinner. Also, Ken the Celebrant who made us so at ease on our day and throughout the ceremony and Dan the photographer whose photos were just beautiful.

The retreat itself has absolutely everything we could have hoped for. We stayed another day after the wedding and it was bliss. We spent the day reading, relaxing, having a spa and watching the weather cross Mt Roland.

I especially loved the sunrises. We could watch the stars above from bed through the glass roof slowly changing into a morning sky and then sunlight would hit Mt Roland in front of you and the mist would dissipate and the pink and orange light from the sunrise would bring out the shadows across the rocks. All day Mt Roland's visage constantly changed.

We are counting the days until we can come back to the retreat.
